2022 Race Cancelled!

Hey fellow racer!

Firstly, thank you for registering for this year’s Vedder Mountain Classic. Your support for this event is appreciated. We know you were stoked to get back to racing, and you were stoked for this event. We were stoked too, and that’s what makes this message so difficult for us to write to you as race directors.

It is with deep regret that we write to inform you that we are forced to cancel this year’s Vedder Mountain Classic.

We really were hoping that we’d be able to get things back on track following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, but unfortunately this year’s Vedder Mountain Classic will become another victim of the aftermath of the pandemic.

With added unforeseen logistical challenges, low registration numbers, increased regulatory considerations, and the loss of key partners, we are in an unfortunate place where we are not able to move forward and provide the same atmosphere and caliber of event that the Vedder Mountain Classic has become.

We will refund your race entry fees over the coming weeks. Please be patient as this is a multi-step process which takes some time, but you will get a refund.

This decision weighs heavily on us, and we are extremely disappointed things are not working out this year. We want to thank everyone who supported the event and registered, you rock! Thank you to our supporters and sponsors for 2022 including:

About the Vedder Classic

Once one of the oldest mountain bike events in Canada, the Vedder Classic has a rich history that began in 1985 and ran until the mid 1990s. The event was revived 5 years ago by a group of passionate volunteers who were eager to share some of the most spectacular single track trails that the Valley has to offer: epic climbs, technical sections, long descents, smooth rolling contours, rocks, roots and loam!

This race has something for everyone, offering a Full Course (35k) and a less grueling Shortened Course (15k). Enjoy a fully taped course, tons of volunteer support, a wicked after party and the bonus cash prizes!

In 2022 the Vedder Mountain Enduro will return featuring 5 challenging stages to test riders skill, fitness and mental toughness. This year the Enduro Race will be an Enduro World Series Qualifier Round. This gives racers the ability to earn points to gain entry into the Enduro World Series.

Those that have raced the event in the past can attest that the Vedder Mountain Enduro has been a highlight in the Enduro calendar over the years. We are excited to be bringing back a monster of a course featuring 2000 m of vertical over 30 km of fast, loamy single track. With an average race time of 30 minutes and the race staged on the beautiful shores of Cultus Lake, BC this is will be one event that you don’t want to miss.

Vedder Mountain Classic XC – Saturday May 14th, 2022

The Vedder Mountain Classic XC features both the Long Course (35 km) and the Short Course (15 km) options. This is Original Vedder Classic event and is a true test of skill, bike handling, endurance and overall fitness. For the serious cross-country racer this is BC XC racing at it’s best.

Vedder Mountain Classic Enduro – Sunday May 15th, 2022

The Vedder Mountain Classic Enduro has become one of the premier enduro events in British Columbia. With 5 unreal stages of flowing loamy single track, 2000 m of descending, over 30 km and an average race time of around 30 minutes this event is a must attend.

This year’s Enduro will also be an Enduro World Series Qualifier Round. Being on 1 of the few stops in Canada, those racers looking to earn points won’t want to miss it.
